Scrum Alliance members fuel our work and sustain our vision of a world in which agile is for anyone. The annual Scrum Alliance Member Awards are intended to celebrate our members and recognize the leadership, service, and impact they are making in our broader agile community.

The Scrum Alliance Member Awards are all about celebrating the people who show up for our community and live the values of commitment, courage, focus, openness, and respect. Whether they are mentoring others, building connections, or leading meaningful change, these Scrum Alliance members bring agile values to life and help our community grow stronger every day.

Agile Achievement
Award
Eligible nominees may include coaches, practitioners, leaders, or contributors who consistently uplift others and advance agile values.
Rising Star Award
This award recognizes emerging leaders whose early contributions signal a strong future impact on agility and community building.
Volunteer of the Year
Award
Celebrates an agile professional who has demonstrated outstanding service to the community through volunteerism. This award honors individuals who dedicate time and energy as ambassadors of Scrum Alliance and champions of community connection.
User Group of the Year
Award
Recognizes a Scrum Alliance User Group that has demonstrated exceptional impact in fostering connection, collaboration, and learning within the agile community.
This award honors a group that consistently creates valuable experiences, strengthens the global Scrum Alliance network, and embodies community-driven agility.
Agile Impact Award
Honors a Scrum Alliance-certified trainer whose impact extends beyond the classroom through dedicated mentorship of fellow trainers and vocal advocacy for agile values.
Awards guidelines and eligibility
Anyone can submit a Scrum Alliance Member Awards nomination, but only active members are eligible to win. Award winners are recognized and celebrated across the Scrum Alliance network, including at our Global Scrum Gathering, in member communications, our website, and other digital channels.
Nominations are open for a limited time each year. Submission deadlines, eligibility details, and award guidelines are shared annually. Incomplete or late submissions are not considered. View the most up-to-date guidelines here.
Celebrating past winners
The Scrum Alliance Member Awards recognize members whose leadership, service, impact, and accomplishments are shaping the future of agility. Selected through peer nominations and committee review, these award winners represent excellence in the Scrum Alliance community.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Ricardo “Richie” Rottmann-Ordoñez is a scrum master, learning experience designer, and
community builder from Guatemala. He is passionate about using agile not only as a way of
working, but as a way of bringing people together and strengthening communities.
Richie has been an active volunteer within the Scrum Alliance community across multiple
Global and Regional Scrum Gatherings.
Agile Impact Award
Janani is an Executive Agile Leadership Coach and Certified Scrum Alliance Trainer who is
passionate about helping leaders, teams, and organizations grow through change with
clarity and purpose. She is the co-founder of Business Agility Tune Up, a company
specializing in organizational change management and supporting organizations driving digital growth to turn strategy into execution and measurable results.
Rising Star Award
Hannah Adeniji, PMP®, CSM®, is a Medicaid Project Management Specialist at the
University of Illinois System, where she leads technology-driven operational
improvement initiatives within healthcare and public sector environments. Hannah has championed agile methodologies across complex, cross-functional teams, bringing structure, transparency, and collaborative energy to organizations navigating change.
Agile Achievement Award
Rumesh Wijetunge is an agile coach, trainer, transformation consultant and entrepreneur who is a pioneer in the agile community in Sri Lanka. He began his agile journey in 2010, conducting agile training internally at the organization he worked for as a scrum master and business analyst, and started conducting public and corporate training in agile ways of working in 2013.
User Group of the Year Award
My journey with Agile Singapore began a decade ago as a project manager introducing
scrum to a high-stakes space technology programme at a local research institute. Grappling
with role conflict, I found a safe space at our agile meetups, where fellow practitioners spoke
openly about their challenges and insecurities. Hearing others articulate similar struggles
helped me normalise my own experiences.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Elena Aminova was honored for her exceptional service to the agile community through volunteer leadership. She is widely known for organizing agile conferences, Agile Coaching Retreats, and community meetups that create spaces for learning, connection, and transformation. Elena’s efforts reflect a deep commitment to making agility accessible and impactful.
Agile Impact Award
Madhavi Ledalla received the Agile Impact Award for her outstanding contributions to agile and scrum education. An experienced agile coach with a strong technology background, Madhavi has led large-scale transformations through training and coaching. Her work emphasizes inclusive, human-centered learning and meaningful, measurable outcomes for learners.
Rising Star Award
Jason Cathcart was recognized for his exceptional early contributions to the agile community. An agile coach at Optus, Jason empowers teams to adapt, innovate, and thrive in complex environments. His work reflects strong leadership potential and a deep commitment to collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.
Agile Achievement Award
Rowan Bunning was recognized for a career of lasting impact as a community builder, mentor, and agile leader. A pioneer of scrum in Australia, Rowan has guided organizations across industries through agile adoption for more than two decades. His leadership and mentorship continue to shape the global agile community.
