2025
Annual Report
Agility to Thrive in the Age of AI,
Disruption, and Unprecedented Opportunity
Letter from the CEO
The Era of Organizational Enablement
For businesses worldwide, 2025 was a year unlike any other. We saw the rise of AI and automation accelerating across industries, pushing organizations to focus less on whether they adopt new technologies and more on how quickly and effectively they can integrate them.
At the same time, geopolitical shifts and supply chain disruptions forced companies to reassess their operations, making resilience and adaptability top priorities.¹ Businesses are also embedding sustainability and continuous upskilling into their strategies, recognizing that agility is essential for long-term success.² These shifts underscore a truth we see every day: agility is what allows people and organizations to thrive through disruption.
As disruption intensifies, enterprises cannot rely solely on methodology or framework specialists. They need organizational enablers: professionals with the breadth of skills, systems thinking, and adaptive leadership to strengthen organizational resilience and guide teams through uncertainty.
This has become the defining capability of modern work, and it is the core focus of everything we set out to build this year.
At Scrum Alliance, we've seen firsthand how agility transforms not only organizations, but people. Agility equips teams to learn continuously, respond creatively, and lead with courage in uncertain times. As a global community of nearly 1.8 million professionals, you've shown the world what it means to turn change into opportunity.
As an organization, our purpose is clearer than ever. Agility continues to evolve, and its importance has never been more significant. As enterprises confront a world defined by complexity and speed, Scrum Alliance and our members are uniquely positioned to guide this transformation. Backed by a global network of training partners, coaches, and agile practitioners, we are readying individuals and organizations with the skills to lead through change and build resilience that lasts. Our efforts are already underway.
In 2025, we introduced an array of new opportunities for growth to help professionals build the skills they need in the ways that work best for them. Through new content collaborations with leading education partners such as Northwestern University, Kanban University, and Coursera, we've expanded our learning portfolio and created fresh opportunities for members to grow their expertise.
We've also more than quadrupled the number of members-only benefits—including discounts on on-demand courses, new tools, and special offers from brand partners like Miro, Comparative Agility, The Agile Network, and more. Equally important, we created space to connect: the Global Scrum Gathering in Munich brought professionals together from around the world to learn, grow, and celebrate agility, while Regional Scrum Gatherings helped strengthen local networks and amplify the reach of our mission.
In 2026, Scrum Alliance is committed to increasing member value by strengthening and supporting member-led communities, expanding the tools and resources that help members excel, and creating more ways for them to discover and connect with employment opportunities.
We will remain laser-focused on delivering programs and initiatives that enhance your professional journey. We'll continue adding in-demand skills training and improving our education and community offerings based on the feedback you share with us.
Be on the look out for more announcements and examples of how we are responding to global trends and member needs in ways that help you thrive.
Thank you to our members, staff, volunteers, trainers, coaches, and partners for being essential to this journey, and thank you to the Board of Directors for their steadfast leadership.
Together, we're building a more agile world.

Who We Are
Supporting Professionals Who Enable
Organizational Change
Scrum Alliance is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit professional association and part of a global community committed to making agility accessible and meaningful for all. Through our vision of Agile for Anyone™, we're expanding the reach of agile beyond roles and frameworks—equipping professionals everywhere to apply agile principles and build agile culture in any context.
As organizations navigate an era shaped by AI advancements, rising competition, and rapidly shifting customer expectations, agility—and the skills that reinforce and extend it—is what enable teams to adopt new technologies effectively and deliver results that make a difference. Today, more than half of employees in participating organizations are expected to use agile-related skills in their roles, showing how agility has become a universal workplace competency rather than a role-specific specialization.³
To ready our members for this new landscape, we partner with world-class training partners to deliver certifications, microcredentials, and learning resources.
Guided by the belief that agility works only when every voice is heard, we uphold the values of Courage, Openness, Respect, Focus, and Commitment as we support nearly two million professionals worldwide in their agile journeys.

Governance and Resilience
Aligning our Oversight with the Evolving Needs of Today’s Organizations
The pace of global change brings both opportunity and risk. Scrum Alliance manages this landscape through proactive governance and an unwavering commitment to agility.
Our internal risk framework helps us identify, track, and mitigate organizational risks, both internal and external. This framework is reviewed on a quarterly basis by the Board of Directors to ensure ongoing oversight, awareness, and responsiveness.
To address the risk that is our number one concern—meeting the changing needs of our community—our board has met with members from all over our community, including in Japan, Munich, New York, and New Orleans, to hear stakeholder perspectives and ensure we're heading in the right direction to deliver on our mission, add value to our members, and serve the agile community.
What we've heard is that learner preferences are evolving towards a mix of modalities and organizations are struggling to adapt to today's lightspeed AI-driven environment. All of the changes we've made, and are continuing to make, are geared towards meeting these learner needs and enabling them to leverage agility to tackle the very real, very complicated problems they face.
We must evolve our content and delivery channels to meet learners where they are and deliver practical, timely, and valuable upskilling or risk loss of relevance and mission impact. Still, we understand that some of these changes impact the broader agile ecosystem. Our board constantly weighs the needs and feedback of our broad range of stakeholders, balancing what is best for Scrum Alliance, our members, our training partners, and the broader agile ecosystem.
Our mission is to advance agile and scrum practices for everyone, and the expansion and evolution of this organization will further that mission while also responding to and mitigating our most salient risks. By diversifying our course catalog with relevant topics, growing the channels available to learners, and undertaking new partnerships, we're reaching, creating, and supporting as many agilists as possible and improving our organizational resilience.
Agility itself is our greatest safeguard. It allows us to adapt swiftly, learn continuously, and turn uncertainty into opportunity. Our commitment to responsible governance ensures that Scrum Alliance can continue serving its mission for generations to come.

Our Mission
Celebrating the Passion and Dedication of the Scrum Alliance Staff
Our teams embraced agility in action, collaborating across functions, adapting to new challenges, and delivering work that bolsters our entire community. Their contributions do more than support Scrum Alliance; they exemplify the kind of empowered, multi-skilled talent that enables real change in organizations everywhere.
Agility Exists Only When Every Voice Is Heard
Cultivating a community where everyone belongs and can make an impact
True agility begins with people. When every individual feels valued and included, they gain the confidence and opportunity to grow into the enablers of change their organizations need. Inclusion is what makes Agile for Anyone possible.
In 2025, we laid the groundwork for our long-range Inclusion and Belonging strategy. This baseline year focused on listening, assessing, and understanding our starting point. Through a comprehensive review of more than 70 practices, we identified key opportunities to grow inclusion and belonging across our staff, trainers, and global community.
We established foundational data on employee and trainer engagement, demographic diversity, and inclusion maturity. We also delivered Cultural Intelligence training to leadership and the Board of Directors, and launched our public Inclusion and Belonging statement. These steps clarify where we are today and guide where we must grow next.
Our long-range plan now embeds inclusion into how we hire, collaborate, and support trainers and members worldwide. Our goal is simple but powerful: to ensure that agility truly is for anyone.
94% of employees feel a sense of belonging at Scrum Alliance
Agility thrives when every voice is heard
Scrum Alliance Inclusion and Belonging Statement
At Scrum Alliance, we believe agility thrives when every voice is heard, every background is valued, and every person has access to opportunity. As a global certifying body, we are committed to ensuring that agile learning, practice, and leadership are inclusive and equitable across all identities, geographies, and experiences. Grounded in our values of openness, commitment, respect, focus and courage, we are building a future where professional growth is possible for anyone—because agility should be for everyone.
Together, We're Building a More Agile World
The story of Scrum Alliance is the story of people joining together to create something bigger than themselves. In 2025, our members, trainers and training partners, coaches, volunteers, and others advanced agility in ways that reached every corner of the world.
Our shared work—educating, connecting, mentoring, and learning—is transforming how people lead and create value today. As we move into 2026, we carry with us a clear mission, a united community, and an enduring belief in the power of agility.
Keep learning. Keep leading. Keep growing agility that's truly for anyone.
