A-CSD requirements

You must complete certain criteria to earn the A-CSD. These requirements verify that you possess the foundational knowledge, practical experience, and dedication to succeed in advanced scrum development roles:

  • Hold a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) certification (your CSD can be active or expired. Your CSD will renew automatically when you earn the A-CSD.)
  • Complete an approved A-CSD course to acquire advanced agile development techniques
  • Validate at least 12 months of relevant experience as a scrum developer/team member within the last five years
  • Successfully finish all components of the A-CSD course, including any required pre- or post-course work

Maintain your A-CSD by earning Scrum Education Units and renewing your certification every two years.

Certifications with substance

Choosing Scrum Alliance means you will earn a certification badge that is recognized by employers and recruiters globally.

Established in 2001, Scrum Alliance provides certifications with substance: Once you earn the badge, the renewal requirements include proof that you've continued to grow your knowledge—by reading books, watching webinars, attending events, etc.

Earn Scrum Education Units with every learning opportunity you complete. SEUs are required for certification renewal every two years. Instead of a one-and-done lifetime certification, you'll have a badge that proves to employers your commitment to continuously growing, evolving, and expanding what you know.
