About
My name is Sven Koehler. Currently, I live in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany.
I studied applied computer science in Chemnitz. During my studies I spent 3 months in Nottingham, GB for an internship in 2001. In 2002 I started an internship and continued in autumn of the same year with my diploma thesis which I finished in spring 2003. After finishing my studies I was offered a job as SW developer at Siemens site in Chemnitz. Until 2013 I worked in this role in several projects.
In 2007 I was introduced to agility in general and Scrum specifically during an inhouse workshop. Even though I had no management support I experiemented in my direct environment with TDD, used a "to do"-"doing"-"done"- type of board to prioritize and manage my work. About 2010 I found some colleaques who were open enough to give Scrum a try. Even though we had only the book.
In 2013 a transition from waterfall/V-model based development process to an agile one based on Scrum was introduced. agile42 was assigned to support the transition. For internal support internal coaches should be trained. In april 2013 I joined this team.
The following year the internal coaches team spent the time with training on the job, coaching pilot teams under the guidance of experienced coach from agile42. Meanwhile we developed an agile awareness workshop to inform the colleagues about the transition and the core pillars of agility.
In spring of 2014 we started to run team and PO trainings for our development workforce followed by a coaching period. Several communities of practice were set up to help the colleagues in matters of experience exchange and cross-team cooperation.
Until now I support development teams, ScrumMaster, POs and Management with my knowledge about agile in trainings, workshops and coachings.
