Dr. Mark Bergman is a product owner, agile architect and innovation coach in the domain of software systems engineering. He is currently applying agile methods to improve immersive feedback and awareness of user interaction with cloud systems. His research is focused upon improving the practice of systems engineering via application of agile methods and the complex adaptive systems (CAS) framework. He has over 15+ years of experience in the IT environment, including cloud architecture, secure, federated cloud computing, service oriented architecture (SOA), user-experience centered design (UX) and automated quality assurance. He has published over a dozen peer-reviewed articles and papers on the topics of requirements engineering in the field, systems design, and automated testing. He has worked for or consulted with VMware, the MITRE Corporation, Naval Postgraduate School, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard and a variety of Web start-ups. Dr. Bergman has a B.S. (1983) from the University of California, Berkeley in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and an M.S. (1997) and Ph.D. (2003) from the University of California, Irvine. He is a member in good standing of the following professional organizations: Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), Association of Open Group Enterprise Architecture (AOGEA), Association of Information Systems (AIS), IEEE, INCOSE, and INFORMS.
