Steven Chong
I am a Software Engineer with over 16 years experience in the IT industry. I have worked in academic research and in large, medium and small sized companies. Technically, my main area of expertise is in Software Engineering with a particular focus on API design and Java development. I have led numerous projects, and have been responsible for architecture, design and implementation as well as technical mentoring.
Each team I have Scrum Mastered for has been different and each project that we worked on together had it’s own unique challenges. I’ve used core Scrum, Scrum with hard deadlines and also Kanban. I’ve worked with experienced/new/errant/no Product Owners and Teams who have never worked with Scrum and other experienced teams who are completely self-organizing. It’s important to know where your Team is in their Agile journey in order to provide the type of coaching that they need.
I believe that Agility comes through keeping in mind the 12 Principles and 4 Values, trusting the team and constantly inspecting and adapting.
