Sarah Statz - Back in 2008 I was on a support team who suddenly had a 6 week deadline because someone somewhere on a different floor signed a piece of paper. One of the team members mentioned hearing about Scrum at a tech conference, convinced our team lead, and soon we hired an outside consultant to teach us Scrum in 2 days and help us for a few weeks. We hit the ground running and I natually gravitated towards the Scrum Master role. Once that consultant's time was up I took over for him and I've been a Scrum Master ever since.
