This course is delivered in Finnish and in a classroom.

Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) is a foundational course for anyone who wants to understand Scrum deeply and apply it effectively in real work. The course covers the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master accountabilities, Scrum events and artifacts, and the core principles that make Scrum work: empiricism, transparency, inspection, and adaptation.

The emphasis is strongly practical. You will learn how to help a team build focus, deliver value in short cycles, and improve continuously — while navigating the common realities of modern product development: changing priorities, dependencies, uncertainty, and organizational constraints.

What you will learn

  • The purpose and mechanics of Scrum — and what “good Scrum” looks like in practice

  • The Scrum Master role: servant leadership, facilitation, coaching, and removing impediments

  • How to support healthy Sprint planning, collaboration, and effective reviews and retrospectives

  • Working with Product Owners and stakeholders to improve transparency and decision-making

  • Common anti-patterns and how to address them without “Scrum theatre”

  • How to use empiricism and metrics responsibly to support learning and outcomes

The course is highly interactive. Expect short theory segments, hands-on exercises, discussions, and real-world scenarios. You will practice core Scrum skills such as facilitation and structured problem-solving, and you will leave with concrete tools you can use immediately.

After completing the course, participants receive access to the Scrum Alliance® Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) assessment. Passing the assessment grants the CSM® certification.

This course will be delivered in Finnish and in a classroom setup.

This two-day Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) course combines theory, practical exercises, and facilitated discussions.

Day 1 – Foundations and the Scrum Framework

  • Agile mindset and empiricism

  • Scrum theory and values

  • The Scrum Team: accountabilities and collaboration

  • The Scrum Master role in depth

  • Scrum artifacts and commitments

  • Product Backlog refinement and value focus

  • Sprint Planning: creating focus and alignment

Day 2 – Enabling Effective Scrum in Practice

  • The Sprint in action

  • Daily Scrum: purpose and common anti-patterns

  • Sprint Review: transparency and stakeholder collaboration

  • Sprint Retrospective: enabling continuous improvement

  • Facilitation techniques for Scrum Masters

  • Removing impediments and navigating organizational constraints

  • Metrics, transparency, and responsible use of data

  • Common challenges and practical case discussions

The agenda may be adjusted based on participant experience and learning needs, while fully covering Scrum Alliance® learning objectives for the CSM® certification.

The course is especially valuable for:

  • New or aspiring Scrum Masters

  • Team members working in Scrum teams

  • Project managers transitioning to agile ways of working

  • Product Owners and business representatives collaborating with Scrum teams

  • Team leads, line managers, and leaders supporting agile teams

  • Coaches and consultants who want a solid foundation in Scrum

No prior Scrum certification is required. Some experience in product development or team-based work is helpful but not mandatory.

If you are responsible for helping a team improve focus, collaboration, and delivery — or you are moving into that role — this course will give you the structure and confidence to do it well.

Full attendance on both course days is required to be eligible for the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification.

Active participation is expected. The course is highly interactive and includes exercises, group discussions, and practical scenarios. Participants are encouraged to contribute, ask questions, and reflect on their own work context.

There are no pre-course assignments. After the course, participants complete the Scrum Alliance® CSM® assessment online at their own pace.
