Whether you use ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or Gemini, the quality of your prompts largely decides the quality of what you get back. Most people are leaving huge amounts of value on the table simply because nobody has shown them how to ask properly.

This microcredential teaches the fundamentals of prompt engineering: how to structure a prompt for consistent results, how to refine one that falls flat, and how to adapt AI tools to your own team's workflows - all live, in a single focused session.

Most live providers run this course in around two hours. We've extended it to a full three, so the prompting lab has proper room to breathe - you leave with prompts you've actually tested, not just watched someone else write.

Not a Licensed Provider Reading Someone Else's Slides

John Barratt is one of the named subject matter experts credited by Scrum Alliance for developing this exact course. You're learning prompt engineering from someone who helped write the curriculum - not just deliver it.

A full 3 hours, not a rushed 2. We've extended the session to give the prompting lab proper room to breathe, and every booking includes ongoing access to the Agile Affinity Discord - so the learning doesn't stop when the session ends.

What Will You Receive?

Your Microcredential

The Get Started with AI Prompt Engineering badge from Scrum Alliance, plus 2 SEUs and a two-year Scrum Alliance membership with premium benefits.

A Live Prompt Engineering Lab

Once you've learned the core techniques, you'll put them into practice on mock and real-life scenarios, live in the session - not left as homework.

Prompts You Actually Keep

Editable templates and real examples built during the session, ready to adapt for your own role, team, or workflow.

Taught by the Course Co-Developer

John Barratt helped write this course for Scrum Alliance. Sessions go beyond the standard slide deck, with real examples of where prompting succeeds and fails in practice.

Ongoing Community Access

Free lifetime access to the Agile Affinity Discord, where you can keep refining your prompts with trainer and peer support long after the session ends.

Small-Group Attention

Capped at 12 participants, so there's genuine room for questions and discussion - this isn't a webinar.

How the Live Session Works

01

A Full 3-Hour Live Session, Not a Rushed Two

Delivered live via Zoom in a single sitting, capped at 12 participants. The extra time versus shorter competitor sessions goes straight into the prompting lab, so you leave having actually practised - not just watched a demo.

02

How AI understands and responds to a prompt, the core principles of writing one that works, and practical techniques for refining a prompt that falls short.

03

Module 2: Customising AI for Your Team

Writing prompts with your own custom data, iterating prompts to fit your Scrum workflows, and adapting generative AI to frameworks beyond Scrum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any prior AI experience?

No. This course is designed for complete beginners as well as people who have already experimented with tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or Gemini and want more reliable results. There are no prerequisites.

Is there an exam?

No. There is no written exam. Your microcredential is awarded on full attendance and participation in the live session.

How is this different from the on-demand version?

The on-demand version is a self-paced, pre-recorded course you complete alone. This is a live, 3-hour session with John Barratt - one of the course's own co-developers - where you can ask questions in real time and work through the prompting lab as a group rather than on your own.

Do I get any support after the course finishes?

Yes. Every booking includes ongoing access to the Agile Affinity Discord, where you can keep refining your prompts, ask follow-up questions, and get input from John and other course alumni long after the session ends.

How many people will be in the class?

Classes are capped at 12 participants to keep the session interactive and leave room for genuine discussion during the prompting lab.

Are the sessions recorded?

No. The session is fully live and interactive, including hands-on work in the prompting lab. Full attendance is required for certification.

What software do I need?

The latest Zoom desktop application (not the web or mobile version), a stable internet connection, and free access to an AI tool such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or Gemini. A paid account is not required.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

If your schedule changes, you can transfer your booking to a future session at no extra cost - just let us know at least 3 working days before the session starts.

What's your refund policy?

We offer a 14-day FULL refund guarantee. If you're not satisfied within 14 days of purchase and before the session takes place, contact us at [email protected] and we'll refund your full fee - no questions asked.

Can my employer pay, or can I get a corporate invoice?

Yes. Select "Pay by Bank Transfer" at checkout on AgileAffinity.com and an invoice will be generated automatically. Payment must be received before joining instructions are sent. For larger corporate bookings or bespoke requirements, contact us at [email protected].

What if I have another question?

We're happy to help. Email us at [email protected] and we'll get back to you quickly.
