The goal of this course is to bring awareness and understanding of the foundations of agile leadership. Exploring the way agile leaders think, focus, and behave allows the participants to begin their learning journey regarding what it takes to lead in today’s workplace. Organizations today are striving to stay on top of rapidly changing business needs and are coming to understand that the need to respond and adapt quickly is becoming increasingly important. Business leaders are now required to shift the way that they think about their role as a leader, their relationship to their employees, and the culture of their organization. Agile leaders are needed to help their organizations thrive in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world. Participants should expect that each learning objective outlined in this document will be covered over the course of the program. The model for this course is flexible, allowing education providers autonomy to choose how they deliver the program in a way that will provide the most impact for their participants, including the models they choose, the mix of training and coaching, as well as how they bundle learning objectives in distinct learning sessions.

This module teaches you the basic skills necessary to become an effective Agile leader. CAL-Essentials is very much about exploring “you as a Leader”, leading in a VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex & Ambiguous), and how to lead from a position of influence.

Leaders today are striving to stay on top of rapidly changing business needs and are coming to understand that the ability to respond and adapt quickly is increasingly important. You are now required to shift the way you think about your role as a leader, your relationship with your employees, and the culture of your organization.

Agile Leaders are flexible and capable of leading across cultures, generations, and geographies. Agile Leaders focus on building self-organizing, self-managing teams, setting a vision, and supporting the team as they produce amazing results. We explore the mindset shift required for successful Agile Leadership and how self-awareness, social awareness, and situational awareness are critical for a leadership role. Leadership Agility is especially important in uncertain times to help teams and organizations grow.

Led by our expert Agile trainers, this virtual, online leadership experience delivers the quality you’ve come to expect from Capala Consulting Group from the convenience of your desktop or laptop. This virtual training meets the learning objectives of the Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Leadership Essentials and Certified Agile Leadership Teams.

Pre-requisites for the Foundational module of CAL-E:

  • Leadership experience is essential
  • Participants will get the most from this program if currently holding a leadership role
  • Access to a computer with a working webcam and the ability to run Zoom and Mural applications

Graduates will receive CAL-E certification.

Leadership is all about navigating a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) world. Successful leaders learn how to assess and pivot, often to meet the changing needs of the customer and the world.

Scrum Alliance created a program to help leaders lead in an Agile context. The Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) program, in total, is a 7-month journey that will advance each participant as an Agile leader. The program starts each participant with foundational education, based on their current level of leadership, then dives into a 6-month individualized engagement (CAL II) intended to challenge current perspectives and evolve a mindset that will foster growth and allow agile thinking to take root and flourish.

Capala Consulting Group offers each of the new Certified Agile Leadership 1-day modules over 3 consecutive days to allow you as attendees to select individual or sets of modules that fit your educational goals.

Each class has a limit of 25 attendees.
