I was fully responsible for the management of application software development of Retail Annuity Projects ranging in dollar value of $130,000 to $10.7 million dollars. These projects were based on Hedging and Projection Strategies. In addition, to these projects also led several initiatives to bring process improvements into the organization. Also, was responsible for identifying process improvement areas and made sure that all documentation was up to SDLC quality standards. Projects ranged from domestic to international projects. My team was responsible for approximately 14 projects as well as special initiatives. I was also fully responsible for writing the SOW and planning and managing the Vendor Engagement with Algorithmics. In addition, was responsible for the hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, one on ones, coaching and mentoring, and the day-to-day management duties of Direct Report Project Managers. Was responsible for the revision and innovation of new ideas into requirements templates, requirements checklists, lessons learned, project scorecard, and project charter to make them more PMI standard as well as revising the current structure of my group to be more efficient. In addition, managed application development resources that were located in Russia as well as in Minnesota. One of my most important initiatives was coordinating with Penn State to customize a Project Managers Boot Camp that would teach the correct ways of managing projects within our organization. I established a mentoring program for IT Business Analysts so that requirements in our organization were of the highest quality. I also presented brown bag classes pertaining to requirements gathering and writing. Created a process for managing code contention throughout our organization. July, 1998 January, 2007 Project Manager (Corporate Technology, Wealth Management and Investment Management Systems, Institutional Systems) The Vanguard Group Was responsible for negotiating with Interwoven million dollar project SOW on restructuring the branching structures that Vanguard uses to display content on as well as other internal web-sites. Once completed, would manage the effort for all Vanguard divisions. In addition, managed developers within multiple divisions to produce a Proof of Concept for Vanguard Business using FILENET. Also, managed an Enterprise Content Management Support and Development Teams which supported site. I established four Quarterly Development Releases based on need and hours and working with the business clients to ensure that their needs were met. Enterprise Content Management Group also had an internal website that was internally developed and maintained by our group specifically letting people know about required Service Level Agreements. In addition, was responsible for managing special development projects that came up. When I was in the Fixed Income Group, was responsible for managing several application development areas of Data Strategy for the new Investment Management System. This project was a total re-write of an existing Legacy System (COBOL DB2 CICS) as well as manual implications (ACCESS database and excel spreadsheets). Our main objective was to produce an in-house state-of-the-art system in .Net with using Pace Investment Systems (Vendor) as a Data Depository. I worked closely with Traders and Wealth Managers to establish best practices in reporting and data migration strategy for several of the applicable areas such as Short Desk and Long Desk. In addition, used a modified iterative approach to manage and track progress. I managed several work-cells that produced screens in .NET and worked closely with several of the UI Designers to create reporting screens.
