Hi there! My name is Louis Tan!

I'm a technology veteran with more than 18 years experience in Product Management, Web Development and Online Marketing across Finance, Media/Publishing, Travel, Telecommunications and Social Media industries.

My technology career took off from 2000 as an Ecommerce Manager for a startup, Fridae.com, in Singapore. Back then, Product Managers didn't even exist, let alone SCRUM or MVP concepts. Product development was less structured and informal then, quite like a free-for-all buffet. We validated ideas with friends and colleagues, launched features without any testing to see what sticks, with little stability or scalability in mind. During my tenure, despite having only one developer and one web designer in the Product Development team, I was able to grow the website into a successful online community with more than 700,000 registered members, 200k MAU, 12M page views, etc. today. Product intuition played a large part in that success.

Following Fridae and another job in between, I moved into the Travel industry where I spent 6 years building products for a much wider audience (Asia Pacific, Europe and North America) with solid commercial success and started to use more methodical approaches towards product development namely SCRUM. Currently, I'm working for a Fortune 100 Financial Services company, Aviva PLC, in the UK.

To date, I've been practicing SCRUM for over 8 years now with many more to come.
