When I started my professional career post graduation in MBA and MS-ITM (Analytics), it did not occur to me what is really meant by creating value for the end user through practices of business analytics. After 4+ years of experience in churning numbers, endless hours understanding algorithms and how to visually represent them, I can safely say that analytics if siloed in an organization is not enough to create any value, but when combined with the sound principles of design thinking and product design, along-with collaboration with business practices, it can work wonders.

As I continue to work in analytics, and having designed two successful analytics based products for an insurance operations organization, I have transformed my core competency to be able to not only perform analytics, but also design an entire experience around it. I am always on a lookout for new challenges and interesting problems to solve/products to design through practices in business analytics, product design and design thinking.
