Title: Agile Coach

Hi!

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio! My name is Mario Mejía, I'm an agile culture lover, enabler and facilitator with experience such as Scrum Developer, Scrum Master and actually as an Agile coach.

I have advanced experience in international projects, oriented to the transformation and adaptation of the framework, Scrum principles and values. My philosophy is fully based on the Agile Manifesto which have helped me to construct self-managed teams and better work environments for people. When I first heard of Scrum, I thought it was a fairy tale, but then I realized how a framework focused on people interactions and customer value has the capacity to transform companies and even people's life with its values.

I'm currently helping a financial institution to walk into the Agile world with Scrum, changing culture and breaking paradigms through coaching process and mentoring IT to build products with high value and innovation. Culture as a product is key to determine actions and All the experience I have help me to make consciousness about the process.

I facilitate Agile Fundamentals workshops for people to understand what Agile and Scrum is, based on practice and real world situations. The goal is to help teams teams to practice values and deliver product increments through scrum framework understanding events, roles and why we need to inspect and adapt.

What is the most important thing to recap in my experience? Retrospectives. I have been a witness of their power to make teams to commit. I have facilitated retrospectives with scrum teams, scrum masters, product owners, IT Managers and even Executive Teams for them to identify those hard things to say but necessary to mention (because bothers them) and improvement areas to make a whole team feel motivated and commited to something they belive and create, all this accomplished with emotional intelligence and life coaching techniques. This what Agile means to me, people... and the whole reason why organizations are interested to practice it, scrum is hard to practice and easy to understand, a basic sentence that put people into the right mindset to recognize that is a journey to enjoy.

Accompany IT Manager to discover new and better ways to lead, hand in hand with scrum teams and stakeholders. I transmit a sense of community within a group of Scrum Master and Product owners (new) to share best practices and develop skills such as facilitation, coaching and mentoring (if applies). Facilitation tools and tips provocate conversation and effective meetings within a timed-box reaching objectives and agreements.

We also facilitate meetings with stakeholders in order to focus on customer and their needs, prioritize and gather context. A whole new world for people who have been working with traditional methodologies in complex enviroments where we do not know what will happen or how a person will react when using a product.

I'm the kind of person that will enjoy a nice cup of coffee and share about scrum for several hours!! There's something new to learn :)
