Jeffrey Chalmers

Jeff Chalmers joined Silicon Valley Accountants in 2011 after 5 years as the VP, Corporate Controller of Geeknet (GKNT), a public e-commerce company. Jeff started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he spent more than 10 years in Audit and Advisory services leading audits, M&A and IPO’s of a range of private and public companies.  Since leaving PwC, Jeff has led the finance teams of both private and public companies, including the IPO of AccelGraphics as well as many merger and acquisition transactions and many system implementations.

During his career, Jeff has continuously worked to enhance the finance function in the organization. From optimizing the accounting close, to creating value added processes for other departments across the organization. He challenged his finance teams to strive to create ways for the business to flourish and always find a way to say “YES” to any question posed to the finance department.

At Silicon Valley Accountants, Jeff leads the Financial Effectiveness Processes at several clients.  He has helped to develop and improve the implementation process which is a very effective and non-intrusive methodology for transforming an accounting close.  This high return on investment approach often delights his clients.

Jeff teaches professional education courses on topics including: Optimizing the Accounting Close and Financial Reporting, COSO Framework Update, Industry Responses to PCAOB Updates and Efficient Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
