Title: Senior Engineer

Prathima Ganesh Pawar

I am a Certified Scrum Proffesional (CSP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), ICAgile Certified Agile Coach and Certified SAFe Agilist (4.5) .

I have 3.5 years of scrum experience out of 7 years of experience in Embedded Automotive IT field working with Daimler – Mercedes Benz R&D India (Technical Scrum Master) and Delphi Automotives (Scrum Developer/Tester). As I wanted to learn more about Agile and aspire to be an Agile Coach, I enrolled to SAFe Agilist and Agile Coaching courses and successfully completed these certifications with high scores. Taking up SAFe agilest course gave me a bigger picture when scaling agile across organisations. Along with these, I wanted to explore the right ways of implementing Kanban for Software Development so I took up a course on the same.

As a Senior Software Engineer my duties included leading the team and also working within the software development and testing team for the Automotive European market.

Daimler-MBRDI being a large-scale organization, when the initial decision was made to adopt Agile, all employees, processes, clients, and management were affected. It was important to see tangible benefits fast. This is where Scrum shines; with a predictable, repeatable release schedule and self-managing teams, the organization realized the power of Scrum. From my previous experience as part of the scrum development team with Delphi Pvt. Ltd., it helped me provide benefits to the organizational changes quickly.

My agile journey as a Scrum master has been a wonderful learning experience. The revelation for me into the agile world has been exciting as it empowers the team to make decisions and emphasis on close collaboration among business and IT. I personally liked the way the whole concept was structured making all Scrum roles easy and enjoyable. Delighting customer is one common team goal which can be achieved by being a servant leader - helping to create self organising high performing teams. Over the last few years I have played multiple scrum roles like Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Scrum Team member. I was part of pilot team which was responsible for successfully rolling out and implementing agile scrum practices.

As agile was new to organization, I took time to socialize different agile reports (ex. burn down chart, release burn down) to higher management during meetings. Implemented tools like Jira and Confluence to manage the agile project which was later utilized at the organization level.

I am enjoying this servant leadership role as I am getting to know many facets of product development. This also thought me how to work in a diverse, cross functional distributed global team to deliver value. I am passionate about Agile Training's and Coaching and would like to pursue a future career in the same. I also think that communal learning can be mutually beneficial to one and all in the agile community. I am part of many agile groups in various social media platforms. I am an active member of Discuss Agile Network (http://www.discussagile.com/forums/forum/general/discussion/). These communities are providing me wonderful opportunity to network, learn, adopt and grow. I believe that Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) Credential will further strengthen my knowledge and provide me an identity in the field of Agile.
