About
I, Abhijit Bardhan am an Information Technology professional with close to 13 years of work experience in Software Development, Planning and Delivery. I am a Certified Scrum Master, Agile Practitioner and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified. I have started my career as a Lotus domino and Java Developer in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, India. I have worked in Banking, Financial Services, Aerospace, Manufacturing and Retail domain. I have worked in multiple location in India and outside with different set of team. I have played role like developer, senior developer and now working as a Scrum Master. I am proactive, collaborative and a team player.
My Agile Scrum journey started in June, 2013 as a senior developer. I got trained in different agile framework and then multiple training on Scrum, user story and other team building activities. I was working in an eight member scrum team for a major aerospace manufacturing company as a customer. We were developing their quality assurance and conformity system for the new product line. I have participated in product backlog grooming, sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand up meetings, sprint review and sprint retrospective meetings. I have also implemented several productivity improvement and completed Lean Six Sigma implementation.
I am working as a Scrum Master. I have played Scrum Master role for a manufacturing and then for a retail customer. I have followed scrum and made sure every team members follow it as per the book. We have maintained all artifacts and other scrum ceremonies as per scrum guidelines. Scrum team is distributed in Onsite and Offshore development center. Sprint planning meeting is organized with onsite product owner, team members (BA, developer, testers). Sometime business users also been invited in a planning meeting through video call. We maintained daily stand up call everyday same time. We have maintained 2 weeks sprint timeline throughout and our sprint starts on wed day. Sprint review and retrospective organized at the end of every iteration. I am also involved in evaluating existing practices followed by client and suggest better ways of adopting them in distributed offshore-onsite development model. I help transitioning new Agile projects taken up by TCS to follow Scrum methodology. Currently I am managing distributed development team from customer location at UK. We have total 8 member team equally distributed at onsite and offshore location as per the skills. I also give training to new team members from other projects in Agile and Scrum methodology. I help aspiring Scrum Masters, Project managers on Agile adoption and help new & existing projects to get more clarity on Agile / Scrum best practices. In parallel I am also involved in understanding of existing Agile processes followed by other clients and setting up Scrum where applicable. The Scrum journey is very exciting and successful for all of my projects so far and I hope we will continue deliver value to customer again and again.
