Davyd Norris

Davyd Norris has over 30 years of software development experience and is a Senior IT Architect with IBM’s Watson IoT business unit, specialising in the Internet of Things and Application Lifecycle. He is based in Melbourne and provides training, consulting and mentoring to corporate clients throughout Asia Pacific. During his time with IBM, he has presented many agile practice, software engineering and tool training courses, conferences and workshops, and has been extensively involved in a wide range of consulting engagements ranging in size from small 2-3 person teams through to 300+ person teams. Davyd sits on the core teams of several Communities of Practice, and for the past 11 years has been an elected member of the IBM A/NZ Technical Experts Council. Davyd is the contributing author and editor of several books covering software architecture, component based development, object oriented design, testing and agile best practice. He is also a contributing member on the OMG’s UML and RAS specification committee. In his spare time he likes to use his passion for music as a volunteer for Aardvark, a non-profit group that uses the power of music to help young people suffering serious and chronic illness, and his IT skills to build and manage systems supporting animal rescue shelters across Australia.
