Garrett Gilbertson

Hello, my name is Garrett Gilbertson. I am an Afghan War veteran, former United States Air Force contracting officer, entrepreneur and venture partner. I received my B.S. in Management from the United States Air Force Academy and my M.S. in Entrepreneurship from Pepperdine University where I was recognized in 2013 as the Outstanding Student in Entrepreneurship from the Graziadio School of Business and Management. After 10 years in the Air Force I separated and founded Serenify. At Serenify my team and I are passionate about making online communication safer, more transparent and more successful. While in the Air Force I was the lead contract administrator for the Global Positioning Systems Directorate; I worked closely with Boeing on our $2B IIF contract. I was also charged as 1 of 2 leads on our $350M Systems Engineering and Integration Source Selection. My performance led to me being recognized as the outstanding company grade officer from L.A. Air Force Base. Working on high-dollar government acquisitions exposed me to high-pressure environments that received close scrutiny from congress, senior military leadership and defense contractor executive leadership. As a 1st Lieutenant, I was deployed to Afghanistan to lead a team of 7 responsible for 439 construction contracts totaling $224M. I was recognized by Brigadier General Casey Blake as the Outstanding Contracting Flight Chief and was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal. I currently work as a Venture Partner with LH Ventures. My responsibilities at LH include sourcing new investment opportunities and performing due diligence on early stage companies.Most recently,our firm has invested in Somabar, Neural Analytics, Connected Signals, Kangaroo Time and Parent Square. I also lead and advise our in house start-ups.I am a strong believer in agile development and am a Certified Scrum Master & Product Owner. Please contact me if I can be of assistance.
