About
I'm currently working as a scrum master for our client, National Education Association. Agile is being implemented across the IT enterprise within NEA and is being successfully implemented for a growing list of software development projects. Before working for Union Mark/Mansell Group, I worked for Service Employees International Union as Project Manager/Acting Web Services Director, managing all aspects of the web services and interactive media work, including vendor relationships, campaign websites, local union websites, strategic planning for online advocacy projects, staffing and resource development, and interdepartmental relationships. I have extensive experience leading website builds, redesigns, and content management system migrations; writing and publishing for the web and print; multilingual content development; strategic partnership development; and relationship management. Before joining SEIU, I was the Director of Content Development for One Economy Corporation, a national non-profit that uses technology to bring low-income communities into the economic mainstream. While I was at One Economy, I managed 20+ consumer-focused, multilingual Web sites and helped build strategic alliances with corporations, non-profits, foundations, and community-based organizations.
I am a native Washingtonian who spent many years living and working in New York City as a journalist, magazine editor, new media advocate, educator, and foreign policy advocate in the US and in Africa. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel extensively through Africa for work, so I now make a point of leaving the US at least once a year to explore other countries.
