Marcus East

Marcus is a customer-focused product and technology executive, non-executive director and board level technology advisor with a passion for driving commercial and social change through digital transformation.

He has a track-record of success in both corporate and startup environments gained through living and working on three continents for some of the world's top brands, including Apple, Comic Relief, Google, IBM and National Geographic.

He is a strong leader with vision and excellent team-building and management skills, able to operate in complex environments, whilst managing technologists and electronic commerce / digital professionals.

He prides himself on his ability to combine strong business acumen with a high level of IT and digital expertise to be effective as the leader of IT-related businesses, or in a CIO / CDO / CTO role running the Digital, Technology or Electronic Commerce divisions of larger organizations.

Marcus has a passion for customer experience, and for building compelling digital products for customers combining innovative design with high performance technology.

He has several years hands-on experience of scaling agile development for larger projects and programs and of introducing agile development on an enterprise scale, including SAFe.

He is a Member of the Institute of Directors (MIoD), Chartered Management Institute (MCMI), a Fellow of the BCS Chartered Institute for IT (FBCS), has a Master's in Management from the University of Cambridge (M.St), and a Bachelor's (B.Sc.) in Management & IT from London Guildhall. He also holds the IoD (Institute of Directors) Certificate in Company Direction.

Outside of his day job, he is interested in the use of technology in developing economies and for tackling social problems, and welcome particularly welcomes invitations for advisory roles for companies based in Africa and Eastern Europe.
