Vincent Davis

I grew up in Georgia although I'm a die hard Tennessee Vols fan. I have been happily married for 18 years and father of 2 awesome kids. My family is the biggest part of my life and I have been blessed throughout my career with employers who understand the need for a reasonable work/life balance. The bulk of professional career really started when I worked at E*trade financial in 2000. I started working as a Senior Stock Broker managing concierge clients and ended my tenure there as a Product Manager/Owner in IT. When I dipped my toes into the project management world of software development, I was hooked. At first, I worked as a Project Manager in a traditional waterfall environment and I was in charge of writing business requirements. Eventually , I moved towards more software project mangenent and became a Product Manager writing functional requirements for software changes and managing them from inception to production deployment. It was through this work that I was eventually introduced to Agile. When I started learning more about this new methodology and Scrum framework it was clear that it was the logical progression to the way I wanted to work as an IT professional. I ultimately ended up working in Chattanooga TN at a startup incubator VC company called Lamp Post Group who immediately wanted me to get certified as a Scrum Master and begin changing the way developement was done there. It was a wake up call for me to see how fast work could get done while producing highly valuable software that was potentially shippable in short iterations. After a couple of years working as a Scrum Master there and Coyote Logistics, I landed at Orthobanc as the lead Scrum Master. My focus was to steer the company towards change in software development using the Scrum framwork. Having learned how to implement Agile using the Scrum framework in a few startups and involved with it at the enterprise level, it made me uniquely qualified as a Scrum Master to help organize change at different levels of business growth. In my 13+ years in software project management I learned a lot about an organizations abiilities to change and how to handle opposition to it. I've learned it is hard to argue with the logical pracitices that Agile/Scrum provides when it comes to producing software at any level.
