Nicholas Butt
About
Mr. Butt was selected by the National Security Agency to participate in the Program Management Development Program (PMDP), to lead acquisition and software development programs across several directorates, Information Assurance, Signals Intelligence, Technology, and Business. Upon completion of his 3+ years in the PMDP, Mr. Butt progressed to becoming the Deputy Program Manager (D/PM) on a Congressionally monitored Major System Acquisition within the Signals Intelligence Directorate. As the D/PM Mr. Butt was responsible for monitoring the cost, schedule, & performance of the program, specifically through the implementation of an Agile Scrum development methodology used by 100+ development resources across five development teams. Mr. Butt also oversaw the System Engineering practices of the program, ensuring that all functional requirements were broken down into meaningful system requirements which were traceable to ensure program success during milestone testing events.
Post his position with the NSA, Mr. Butt joined Snipp Interactive Inc., a Loyalty Marketing and Receipt Processing provider for Fortune 500 companies as a Director of Engineering, overseeing the receipt processing and promotions product line. With Snipp, Mr. Butt lead an integrated team of Software Developers, IT Operations, Quality Assurance testers, and Project Managers. Mr. Butt’s direction Snipp produced over 400 promotional .NET web applications & SMS/MMS marketing campaigns for many diverse Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Butt’s key achievements with Snipp include: Reduction of reported software defects by 400% over a 6-month period, condense the average promotional development timeline from 6 weeks to 2 weeks, and a draw down in the average escalation response time from 4 hours to less than 30 minutes. All improvements are a result of the processes and policies the Mr. Butt established while with Snipp.
Upon joining Interclypse, Mr. Butt serves as the Program Manager for the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS). Mr. Butt communicates daily with the customer base within the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s (MHEC) Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA). Under his supervision, Interclypse has implemented four new state administered financial aid programs. Mr. Butt’s primary responsibilities include managing the cost, schedule, and performance to ensure all requirements are met in accordance with customer established deadlines. In addition to managing Interclypse’s only government prime contract, Mr. Butt also serves as a manager for Interclypse, overseeing a diverse portfolio of commercial efforts across a variety of industries, such as engineering and architecture, property & casualty insurance, and automotive services. Lastly, Mr. Butt is also charged with business development, and proposal management responsibilities.
