Senior Project manager with over 18 years of IT experience spanning project, team management as well as hands-on software development. I have a diverse background in technical (proven skills in Java/J2EE, Rails and UNIX) and managerial areas with experience in creating strategies, performing business analysis, software development, ecommerce   applications, web strategies and in translating clients’ visions to application systems, managing teams, handling client interaction. Have cloud computing, GIS, investment banking and retail banking domain experience.

My agile journey started in 2001 in Tokyo, when my employer Kizna Corporation adopted extreme programming.  I initially started out as a Java/Unix developer and worked in different companies on various projects over the years, getting an experience of development using both agile as well as waterfall. In 2011, I got the chance to play the role of scrummaster in a project for a US Client and formally got my scrummaster certification in 2012. I joined IBM in beginning of 2013 and got the opportunity to coach my new team of 40+ members, on scrum/agile over the course of next two years. It was a very exciting experience where I helped 10 different scrum teams deliver at a very fast pace using agile, and got several awards and recognitions for same as well. I then moved on to help in adoption of scrum in my subsequent projects as well within IBM. I followed scrum of scrum practice help ensure that the various scrum teams were in sync with each other. I also coached the development teams on story point estimations using planning poker method, sprint planning etc, helped in removing impediments in my role of scrummaster, and helped team improve themselves during retrospectives, and showed them how to track their improving performance via burndowns and other metrices. I was also in charge of support team, where I introduced the adoption of Kanban for managing operation tickets.
