James Bass
I have been involved in some way with Agile for over 17 years. My introduction to it was as a Quality Assurance Engineer working for a Public Utility provider. The cadence of the development process, continuous improvement, and empowerment of the team inspired me. I went on to join several more agile teams over the next 6 years at companies around the Pacific Northwest. While working as a QA I also began filling in as a temporary Scrum Master whenever needed. And having gotten that taste of the role, I knew where my career needed to go. My next position took me to a major insurance company in the process of adopting Scrum and into a position as a working QA/Scrum Master where I was successful with my team, as well as assisting with Scrum facilitation across the organization. Now, I have the honor of being a Senior Agile Coach for the US Government, and have achieved tremendous strides in getting the teams to self-organize and realize increasing success.
