David Mittman

David Mittman has been developing software for over 35 years and is currently Manager for Enterprise and Information Systems Engineering at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he leads the delivery of processes, tools, and services that are specially designed to serve the needs of the scientists, engineers, and technicians of JPL’s Engineering and Science Directorate. His software helped plan the Mars Pathfinder mission that put the first-ever rover on Mars in the late 1990s and is planning observations for NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope. As an advocate for the software developer, David is helping to modernize the state of software product development and encourage a culture of collaboration across the Laboratory.
