Avern Williams

Avern Williams is an Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) and Agile Coaching Skills - Certified Facilitator (ACS-CF).  She has over 20 years of IT experience across the utility, healthcare, insurance, and government domains.

She currently works as a Training Coordinator and ScrumMaster with the city of Alexandria, Virginia where she has been coaching on the Agile philosophy and helped introduce and implement the Scrum framework and its associated events. She has mentored project management in the IT department and reinforced the transformation to self-managing, cross-functional teams.  She has also collaborated directly with Scrum teams of vendors, engaging in cross-team Scrum events and the generation of Scrum artifacts, including product backlog refinements and Sprint reviews. 

She uses her Agile Coaching Skills - Certified Facilitator training to further the self-management maturity of project teams, as well as the city's adoption of Agile values & principles and the Scrum framework.
