About
Hello my name is Fernanda Martins,
And at the age of 21 I had my first contact with Scrum and Agile, since then I fell in love with the methodologies. Unlike most professionals who come from an academic background in Technology or already perform some function related to this area containing very technical hard skills, I came from the Human Resources area, as I have always admired the people development part, since my first job I believed that when companies are present in the daily lives of their employees and invest in their careers and development, they provide support, remove impediments, have transparency in the information they will have a high probability of building a bond beyond employment with that individual.
So I started my degree in Human Resources, but I still felt that something was missing because I didn't agree with some management models that I learned in college and experienced in traditional companies. It is as if the world has changed and the companies in which I worked mainly in the HR sector have not evolved in relation to methodologies. In 2019, I had my first contact with agile methodologies in a project that I worked in the IT area that involved frameworks such as Scrum, SAFE, Less, Kanban, XP and Lean Startup. I simply saw a lighter, more flexible, agile and dynamic world there, I was enchanted by the methodology due to the way the teams had transparency, confidence and autonomy to carry out their deliveries.
I decided to study and specialize in all methodologies within Agile, so the opportunity arose to be an Agilist at Banco BV. Currently I follow the Agile Coaches in my area called "NPA" where we take care of the development of the teams in relation to deliveries, we always work with a focus on the experience of our customers, we help the teams to extract business, engineering and team metrics. I love what I do and I no longer see myself working on something that has no agility involved. Working with Scrum has changed my professional and personal life, I am grateful for the whole community that has helped me to follow my professional journey and to all Agilists who have gone through my life in this 1 year working with this methodology.
