Mary Pratt
About
Mary Pratt first encountered Scrum while working at an advertising agency, Ogilvy & Mather, in 2007. She was a "project manager" and so dedicated on getting "final sign-off" on the "requirements" for a project she was running, that she threw a Requirements Black Tie party to get the job done. When the project finally went to build, Mary had discovered stand-up and the benefits of cutting down on team size. Cut to 2009 at a new agency, Euro RSCG, and clients that were beginning to bring Scrum practices into their organizations. Mary studied with Ken Schwaber, Jeff Sutherland, Jeff Patton, Alistair Cockburn, and Lyssa Adkins and brought Scrum into the advertising agency's creative work as an experiment. A few happy clients later, and Mary was on her way. Completely devoted to spreading the goodness of Scrum, she joined forces with Rob Purdie to help with the Scrum User Group that he had founded many years earlier. She is now a SME on Agile at a PR agency, helping clients with external and internal communications on their Agile capabilities.
