BECOMING AN

AGILE COACH

Microcredential · Scrum Alliance · SEUs Available

Learn to adopt the right coaching stance for the moment — facilitating, teaching, mentoring, advising, leading, or coaching — and guide teams through real agile adoption challenges.

This course takes you through the six core stances of an agile coach — facilitating, teaching, mentoring, advising, leading, and coaching — so you know exactly which one to use, and when, in any situation your teams face.

Who it's for: Anyone who wants to become an agile coach; leaders who want to support agile adoption and increase the ROI on their agile efforts; scrum masters ready to supercharge their coaching toolkit; and agilists and professionals looking to grow their team coaching abilities.

Led by Elite CEC Coach Scott Dunn

Trainer Scott Dunn is certified in SAFe and LeSS and has led multiple companies through their Agile transformation, including Deloitte, Dell, Pacific Life, Safran, Rovi, and NASA. He is one of a very few Certified Enterprise Coaches by the Scrum Alliance — a credential that is peer-reviewed and takes years to attain.

One coaching stance isn’t
enough anymore

The problem is…

You default to advising when the moment calls for facilitating
You don't know when to teach versus when to mentor
Your coaching feels the same no matter the situation
You struggle to build trust while shifting between coaching stances
You don't have a plan for mentoring individuals or groups
No one has shown you how these stances play out in real coaching scenarios

Set a course for professional growth in agile coaching — and learn to move fluidly between facilitating, teaching, mentoring, advising, leading, and coaching so you can meet every team exactly where they are.

What You’ll Learn

Master the Stances of an Agile Coach

Learn the first four stances every agile coach draws on, and know exactly when to use each one.

Facilitating

Use the Agile Coaching Growth Wheel to guide conversations that maintain neutrality, trust, and transparency while opening up diverse perspectives.

Teaching

Differentiate between formal and informal learning methods and know when each one best serves your team.

Mentoring

Build mentorship plans that meet the needs of individuals and groups, and use mentoring as a source of growth for yourself and your clients.

Advising

Develop an advising mindset, share relevant agile insights and stories, and build the trust that makes you a resource clients turn to.

What You’ll Practice

Lead, Coach & Apply It All

Move into the stances that create lasting change, then bring every stance together in a real-world case study.

Leading

Create a powerful shared purpose, inspire others through storytelling, and use empiricism to build a continuous learning culture.

Coaching

Adopt a coaching mindset, practice the skills used in a coaching conversation, and learn how coaching a team differs from coaching an individual.

Case Study & Practice

Apply all six stances to real-world, story-based scenarios as you coach people through an agile adoption.
