AI is pushing software supply to new levels, but the demand isn't changing. This means that competition is getting fiercer. Are you making the right kinds of decisions?

  • Value over quantity — The right features instead of plenty of wrong ones
  • Attention doesn't scale — More options, the same finite attention to win.
  • Deciding becomes the bottleneck — When code is cheap, the hard part moves upstream.
  • Stay alive — Products have a life, not just a start. Maintenance may be the expensive part.

When making things is cheap, it's cheap for everyone. Knowing what to make is the whole game. That judgment is what the Product Owner owns.

For corporate customers, VAT is added on top of the course price.

People usually ask us…

Q: Is Scrum dead? — I see a lot of people claiming so online

A: AI is making things faster. AI can complement skills a person lacks, and does allow an individual to achieve more. But it is poor at understanding what real value means to your users, customers, and business. Successful products need human perspectives and insights. Scrum is still very valid as the cadence of stakeholder communication - backlog, roadmap, and vision - and connecting the team with their human environment.

And if anything, the role and responsibilities of a Product Owner have become even more important than before.

Q: Isn't PO just a backlog admin?

A: The backlog is the surface the PO uses to communicate and coordinate the work & progress. The real work is deciding what's worth building and saying no to the rest — the part that requires human insight.

Q: Is this an AI course?

A: No. AI is why judgment matters more; we work on the decisions it forces, and how it shapes the environment in which we operate.

Q: Do I need experience?

A: It helps, but it doesn't have to be PO experience. We all are exposed to business decisions in our environment, and know what kinds of challenges PO's need to deal with.

Q: Will this be a boring death-by-powerpoint course? A: No. Even though it's an online course, it will not be a monotonous slideshow. There will be many group exercises, and engaging discussions. Participants are encouraged to interrupt and ask questions, or even challenge the trainer. Topics will be sprinkled with real-life stories and advice.

Q: How does CSM align with the Product Owner course (CSPO)?

A: These two courses are complementary.

CSM focuses on leading the work - choosing the right framework (it's not just about Scrum), what makes Scrum really tick, how to work with a team as a Scrum Master, and how to make a group of people into a team.

CSPO focuses on the Product Owner role and its key responsibilities - identifying what value means and creating a vision, building a backlog and prioritising the items, and engaging stakeholders.

There is very little overlap in content, and they work very well together to provide a good overview of how to run projects and product development well in an Agile way.

During the three days, we will cover the following topics:

  • Product Owner vs Product Manager
  • Why Agile for PO's?
  • Release Planning challenge
  • Release planning strategies and "mantra"
  • Sprint Planning
  • Sprint Review and stakeholders
  • Building the backlog around user needs
  • Refining the backlog
  • Value estimation
  • Using AI with all of the above

We will manage the course content with a Product Backlog, and will refine the topics based on participant feedback and topic proposals.

Who this is for:

  • Product owners and managers deciding what gets built and why
  • Founders placing limited bets
  • Developers and tech leads now directing AI
  • Scrum Masters who want to help their PO's better

The three training days run for 6 hours each, with a lunch break in the middle of the session. We will start each day at 9:00 and end at 15:00.

We will be using Zoom for the video connection and Miro for collaboration and exercises. Please be prepared to have your video on, at least for most of the day.

We will send you some preparation material and small assignments, to prep you with foundational information. Going through the materials will make it easier for you to absorb the ideas on the course. A lot of the content on the course is more advanced concepts.
