BEHAVIOR DRIVEN

DEVELOPMENT

Microcredential · Scrum Alliance · 8 SEUs

Eliminate "that's not what I asked for." Turn requirements into executable specs your whole team can read, write, and trust.

"That’s not what
I asked for"

The problem is…

Business, Development, and QA discover misunderstandings after the code is written
Requirements are ambiguous, and everyone reads them differently
Documentation goes stale the moment the code changes
Rework eats up sprint capacity that should go toward new features
Your tests and your requirements live in two different worlds

Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) is the industry standard for creating a shared understanding. Stop building features that don't meet the mark — and start reducing rework from day one.

What You’ll Learn

From Discovery to Automation

Collaborative Discovery

Shift left by bringing Business, Development, and QA together before a single line of code is written. Master the "Three Amigos" workshop format to align expectations and eliminate the "that's not what I asked for" problem.

Executable Specifications

Learn to write clear, business-readable scenarios using Gherkin's Given/When/Then syntax. Move beyond dry requirements into "Living Documentation" that serves as both a functional spec and a blueprint for automation.

Bridging the Gap

Discover how to transform Gherkin scenarios into automated tests. Create a continuous feedback loop that ensures your software stays synced with the business requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Technical SEU Credits

BDD is a core component of our technical suite. Whether you're seeking your foundational CSD or moving into advanced territory with A-CSD and CSP-D, this workshop provides hands-on engineering skills at every level.

FAQ

Do I need to be a developer to take this course?

No. BDD is built around the "Three Amigos" — Business, Development, and QA working together. This course is valuable for anyone involved in defining or validating requirements, not just engineers.

Does this count toward my CSD or A-CSD?

BDD is a core technical skill within the Scrum Alliance developer track and earns SEUs toward certification renewals, but it is not itself a CSD-granting course. It's a strong complement to your foundational or advanced technical training.

What credential do I receive after completing this course?

You'll earn the Behavior Driven Development microcredential from Scrum Alliance, along with 8 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and an official digital badge.

How is the class delivered?

This is a live, interactive class delivered over Zoom across two 4-hour sessions — not a pre-recorded video. You'll receive downloadable materials to follow along and keep afterward.
