Just wrapped up my A-CSM with Mark and Great Fish Agility... and it was absolutely worth the time. What stood out most to me was how grounded the course stayed in the reality of Agile leadership and coaching. This wasn’t “memorize terminology and survive the certification” training. The conversations focused on the human side of Agile work... Some included team self-management, facilitation, listening skills, coaching, team dynamics, and identifying and managing impediments in complex environments. The course was extremely hands-on and interactive from start to finish. Real conversations. Real scenarios. Real challenges. The kind of discussions where experienced practitioners can compare scars from the trenches and still walk away with new perspectives. One thing I especially appreciated was that Mark consistently balanced practical real-world examples with references to respected thought leaders across the Agile space and their work. It helped connect the principles to both theory and lived experience instead of treating Agile like a collection of ceremonies and buzzwords. The coaching discussions hit particularly hard for me. Teaching, mentoring, and consulting often come naturally to experienced leaders. Coaching? That’s the tough one. One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning to better recognize which stance the moment actually needs... and resisting the urge to solve the problem before the other person finishes loading it into RAM. Mark is a patient instructor with deep real-world experience, and he creates an environment where people feel comfortable participating, challenging ideas, sharing experiences, and learning from one another. I highly recommend Mark and Great Fish Agility to anyone looking for Agile training that feels practical, thoughtful, interactive, and rooted in reality rather than ceremony theater. Also... apparently I’m finally chasing achievements to unlock. 🙂
