We strongly recommend it. The A-CSPO® builds directly on the CSPO®, so holding a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification (active or expired) gives you the shared foundation the course assumes. It’s a soft requirement rather than a hard gate — if you’re unsure whether you’re ready, just get in touch and we’ll advise. Earning your A-CSPO® also renews all your Scrum Alliance certifications for two years.

To have your A-CSPO® issued by the Scrum Alliance, you’ll need at least 12 months of Product Owner experience gained within the past five years, logged in your Scrum Alliance profile. You can attend the course before reaching that — many people do, and apply the learning while completing the requirement. There’s no logbook to keep with us; the certification simply activates once the experience requirement is met.

No exam. To earn your A-CSPO® you must attend and participate fully across both days with your webcam on. After the course you’ll be recommended to the Scrum Alliance, where you’ll accept the licence agreement and complete your membership profile. Your certification activates once the agreement is accepted and the 12-month experience requirement is met. The A-CSPO® is worth 16 SEUs and is the prerequisite for CSP®-PO.

Come with an open mind and a product you’d like to work on — ideally one you own or care about. Before the course, sign up for a free AI tool (such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot), Zoom, and Mural, as we use all three throughout. Ensure you have a stable internet connection; a second monitor is helpful but not required.

We deliberately keep class sizes small to ensure genuine interaction with your trainer and fellow learners. You won’t be a passive attendee in a large webinar — you’ll be in a working group your trainer can engage with directly throughout both days.

No. The course is fully live and interactive — breakout rooms, group exercises, and real-time discussion are central to the learning. The Scrum Alliance requires full attendance across both days for certification.

You’ll need the latest Zoom desktop application (not the web or mobile version), a browser for Mural, and a free AI tool such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. You’ll also need a stable internet connection and a working webcam and microphone. Cameras must stay on during the course.
