Bringing Agile to State Government!

I've been working for the State of Maine for 25 years (as of 2014).  I'm self-taught and self-motivated.  I've been an "Employee of the Year" (2011) and during the implementation of a case management system (that same year), our team received the Department of Labors "Outstanding Team" award.

Our organization is a traditional, waterfall-style, outfit but over the past few years we've recognized how this framework is inadequate for the frequently changing atmosphere.  In my section, we've moved from pure Waterfall, to "Iterative Waterfall" and now we might be considered Scrum-Fall where constant engagement of our customers is becoming more-normal.  We still are faced with staggering requirement documents from our Federal partners, with a lot of documentation still being produced during the application development process.

But we are moving in the right direction, and I'm delighted to be a part of it!
