About
Satheesh Kumar - In the last 20 years of working in IT, I have played several roles such as Developer, Tester, Designer, Design Lead, Development Manager, QA Manager, Business Liaison and Resource Manager. Most of this experience was in Waterfall Methodologies and that nature of projects, systems, and organizations. During the last 4-5 years, my organization has been slowly (very slowly) transitioning to Agile Methodology and some of us were just getting used to the terms such as Sprint and Backlogs’ etc 3 years ago. Now we have gained expertise at identifying and splitting Backlog Items, apply story points and prioritizing to fit in the 2-weeks sprints. Attending the 2-day CSM class followed by 1-day Agile Workshop, reading thru the all necessary materials, reading thru several articles and case studies gives even broader knowledge and comprehensive understanding on how Scrum works. When we go into Sprint Planning meetings, we ask the right questions and we look for the right answers so that we answer ourselves thus making very rapid progress during the Sprint Planning, which eventually result into much feasible deliverables, backlog items that are identified using the 80-20 idea, how to prioritize backlog items based on story points and how to streamline the future deliverables and how to determine the optimal size of deliverable which are efficient and cost effective in terms reusability. Learning Scrum and being certified now give confidence when participating in Sprint Planning and encourages to seek clarity and best business value when discussing projects at detail level.
