Stephen Kinsey

A Software Developer turned General Manager in IT turned Agile Coach I have over 15 years of Agile experience gained working initially for Global Outsourcing Giants followed by a Software Development Manager/Head of IT stint in a small privately held organisation and currently as an IT General Manager in a Global Risk Management company head quartered in Sydney.

Early in my career I was a Development Lead on a multi-million pound MoD contract to provide recruitment software for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force - this was after had joined the team delivering the same service to the Army. After this was Lead Developer on a leading Evidence Based Medicine application that transformed the way Benefits Assessments were completed throughout the UK. I also led a business process transformation project for Health Authorities to use Electronic Document Management systems to enable remote scrutiny of medical cases allowing them to spread the workload nationally.

My journey then took me to Australia where I became a Software Development Manager in a small company delivering cutting edge payments services. As a service provider to the largest retailers in Australia and New Zealand my company provided prepaid payment services to 80% of the market in these countries. On the back of this success we launched the Federal Government BasicsCard. In less than six months the team delivered a working card payment system that won the Prime Minister's Gold Award for Excellence. At some point during all of this I became Head of IT and facilitated the sale of the company to a major US based payments firm for 450 million Euros.

After this I  joined a Global Risk Management company based in Sydney where I have been on a variety of teams delivering solutions to Australia's largest banks, heading up the delivery of a digital transformation project and establishing an agile practice which has been a two year effort.

Currently I am working as an Enterprise Agile Coach leading transformations in some of Australia's largest and well known enterprises.

I am a Certified Agile Leader, a Certified SAFe Practitioner and Certified Scrum Master.
