Susanne Albinger

Susanne Albinger lives in Vienna, where she studied Computer Science. She is an early employee of update Software AG which developed CRM standard software for more 25 years. She experienced the growth of the company from three people to about 300. As a result, Susanne learned a lot about software development and management and how things change when the team gets larger and communication has to be guaranteed between more than five people in a team and between teams.

As a team leader she helped to implement processes supporting the growth and the efficient development and shipment of software.

Susanne was the first to introduce Scrum in her company. After her Scrum Master certification she spread the knowledge about Scrum and Agile in her team and in June 2011 she started with one scrum team which included developers and testers and her as Scrum Master. After a few months the team grew too large and – also as a result of feedback from the team - was split into two teams.

In the process she learned what it takes to help a team to become a team and what environment has to be created to enable them to commit and feel responsible for their work. As the teams evolved other hurdles arose and had to be tackled, like, for example, how to keep the teams motivated to constantly improve even if everything runs smoothly. She also supported the Product Owner to adapt to her new role and gave feedback to facilitate the communication between the PO and the teams.

In January 2012, as new developers and testers were hired, a third team was formed and a second Scrum Master added. Together with the responsible Product Owner and her peer Scrum Master Susanne developed and constantly improved the synchronization of the three teams and discussed and tried new methods and ideas to help the teams to improve and evolve.

In September 2015 Susanne moved on to Kapsch TrafficCom AG to take on the challenge of moving to Agile in a project driven environment.

At Objectbay Susanne was a member oft the Agile Coaches team  and supported companies and teams in adopting Agile.

In September 2017 she decided to work as a freelance coach and Scrum Master to expand her experience in different companies and with diverse teams. 

Susanne attends Scrum Gatherings and local agile events to exchange views and share experiences with other attendees, which she finds very motivating and helpful to introduce new ideas and techniques to her teams.
