·         Built inaugural Gifting Customer Experience team from scratch, pioneering the Amazon gifting experience worldwide.

·         Took ownership of a legacy service that continuously generated errors and customer issues, and achieved stability in advance of Amazon’s peak Q4 period. This involved focusing on load testing and instrumentation to establish scalability goals for the service and isolate issues affecting performance.

·         Responsible for the end-to-end Gifting Customer Experience company-wide, beginning with road map formulation. This included the drafting of Amazon’s gift receiver services, the back-end machine-learning based gift suggestion engine and dynamic UI presentation layers.

·         Pioneered the adoption of Continuous Delivery with 100% testing automation for full stack applications worldwide.

·         Commended for “raising the bar” on operational excellence across the organization on multiple occasions, on multiple teams.

·         Addressed systemic issues with product gift wrapping by initiating physical investigation at multiple Fulfillment Centers.  Led on-site analysis which uncovered process deficiencies and a failure to prioritize Gift Wrap requirements.  Drafted remediation plan including Key Performance Indicators to be measured on an ongoing basis to enforce compliance.

·         Founded and initiated the Global Coaching, Scrum and Kanban Bar Raiser Program worldwide, originating and managing coaching and mentoring processes and providing direction on agile methodologies and Kanban development and delivery.

·         Actively sought out by teams globally to resolve specific process inefficiencies and consult on a variety of process improvement initiatives, typically by over three teams every week.

·         Trained leadership in the understanding of agile and lean behaviors, leading to a successful roll-out of agile tools and processes. The most successful of these resulted in a 300% increase in feature delivery year-over-year across the organization, by a large development group 120 developers.



Process Evangelist



·         Managed multiple high visibility projects, including new country launches of a full stack implementation of the Webstore product in Germany and the United Kingdom.

·         Fundamentally changed how technical and business teams operated, removing impediments throughout the feature delivery cycle and implementing streamlined process improvements in feature delivery.

·         Led the global Project Management Organization, managing eight Technical Program Managers, evangelizing best practices and instilling a culture of continuous product improvement.

·         Primary owner of the Telecommunications Relay Services (dial 711) and Operator Service (dial 0) platforms, managing 14 international call centers and three data centers, as well as various software development organizations and call and data center teams. Increased net profit margins for both products by over 2100 basis points, from 60% to over 81%.

·         Formulated product road map, negotiating funding approval from the CIO and overseeing entire development effort through to completion. Spearheaded Product Management and championed new product ideas, developing one-of-a-kind solutions to challenging niche problems and maintaining high morale during an extended period of staff reduction.


Platform Architect and Principal

·         Established vision, secured funding, and consequently led the technical design, architecture, planning and implementation of a complete platform replacement for the niche telecommunications relay services (711) platform.

·         Initiated hands-on collaboration with the project teams to deliver highly customized software and hardware platforms, managing different customer groups and their requirements. Guided development, testing, and implementation throughout entire development cycles, ensuring end-to-end quality control for the platform.

·         Designed the 711 platform which included custom hardware, firmware and software. Negotiated contracts with the workstation hardware, switch and network providers, and designed middleware to allow communication between all of the various layers, including legacy systems.

·         Formulated the development of a Telecommunications Relay Services application for Android and led the organization through the complete project life-cycle, taking the application to final production.

·         Worked on numerous mobile applications and initiatives at Sprint, resulting in my exceptional level of telecommunications expertise.


Agile Process Evangelist

·         Revitalized the software development and project management life cycle by moving from waterfall methodology to agile and lean methods, increasing overall efficiencies and reducing end-to-end cycle times by 56% even with a reduction in workforce.

·         Evangelized agile and lean process practices, including Kanban, in multiple organizations in Sprint to develop highly functioning teams and improve development efficiencies.

·         Top revenue generating practitioner at Sprint Paranet, receiving the “Para-100” award. Performed process auditing and improvement programs, leveraging agile, lean, CMM and SCM practices.
