Sprint, Development Manager
March 1999 - Present, Overland Park, KS, United States
Having overall responsibility for the Telecommunications Relay Services (dial 711) and Operator Service (dial 0) platforms. I drove net profit margins for both products eventually exceeded 81%. I had direct responsibility for the engineering, software development, PMO, QA, and production support for the platforms.
I revitalized the software development and project management lifecycle, by moving from waterfall methodology to agile and lean methods, reducing cycle time, and increasing overall efficiencies. End to end cycle times have been reduced by 56%, while overall headcount has been greatly reduced as Sprint went through substantial downsizing.
I lead the design, planning and implementation of a total platform replacement for the telecommunications relay platform. I worked hands on with the project teams to deliver end value for the customer and mentored and improved team skills and proficiencies. Visionary, architect and manager.
I lead the way inside of Sprint to find new efficiencies with agile, scrum and scrumban (lean scrum). I consulted with other organizations in Sprint to investigate opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and to deliver value and increase profitability. I partnered with the sales and business organizations to bridge open gaps in communication, strategy, and execution.
Recognized in software development and IT project turn around efforts, I was brought into Sprint via. Sprint paranet. I was the top billing consultant out of the Ft. Lauderdale and Atlanta offices, and recipient of the para 100 award. Performing process auditing and improvement programs, leveraging Agile, lean, CMM and CM audits.
Lead my division towards reducing cycle time and making substantial improvements on KPI's. Challenged the development team and delivered a complex android handset application from first concept to production ready within two months.
