Mario Collard I'm a results driven Engineering Manager with long standing experience working for network infrastructure providers, mobile device makers, IoT devices and chipset manufacturers. My polished leadership skills, my excellent technical knowledge of telecommunication networks, my experience developing consumer electronics hardware & software, and my collaborative mindset have earned me the privilege of building and leading several high performing engineering teams. The early part of my career focused on hardware test engineering and test engineering management in manufacturing organizations producing point to point radio transmission systems and GSM cellular network infrastructure. During the past 20 years, I led software engineering & test teams in R&D organizations at Motorola Mobility, Freescale Semiconductors, Research In Motion, and Wistron Mobile Solutions. My teams developed test solutions for smart phones sporting a variety of cellular radio technologies and short range radio technologies such as WLAN, Bluetooth and NFC. I built several teams from the ground up, spearheading cross-functional process improvement initiatives and strengthening relationships in complex corporate organizations. I worked closely with Hardware Development, Software Development, Systems Engineering, Marketing and Product Management, identifying test requirements, creating test development roadmaps, and delivering high quality test systems and automated test platforms to internal teams and external customers. Having negotiated corporate pricing agreements with test equipment & service vendors and having relentlessly resolved product defects with customers, I forged strong supplier and customer relationships. Aside from outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, I have an excellent knowledge of software development methods & tools, and I have practiced the Six-Sigma methodology, Agile software development, and PMI project management methodologies. As an Electrical Engineer specialized in wireless telecommunications, I have a comprehensive understanding of electronic systems and devices and a passion for learning new technologies
