Larry Banner

Larry Banner has been leading and managing creative teams in a number of industries for over twenty years. For the past ten years he has worked in software development within the fields of publishing, education, on-line learning, open source/open science, and mobile and web applications. Introduced to Agile and Scrum about eight years ago when researching software development best practices — it clicked! And he’s never (willingly) gone back. A graduate of Stanford University (BA East Asian Studies) and University of Virginia (MA History of Religions - East Asia), professionally Larry has always worked in technology. But his studies impacted both his high degree of understanding of the needs of people and teams, and his recognition of change and uncertainty. Both reasons he was attracted to Agile and Scrum as philosophies and frameworks for team and project success. Larry has served in the roles of Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Project Manager. He has also coached Product Owners and fellow Project Managers and ScrumMasters within the companies for which he has worked. In 2015 he was trained and received his CSM. He aspires to be an Agile, Scrum, and team coach.
