Keith Sands

I am a Lead Digital Capabilities Product Owner at Cambridge University Press & Assessment. I currently manage a team of four Product Owners delivering capabilities across a range of platforms used by over 4 million language learners and teachers worldwide. My focus is on delivering strategic and financial value, prioritising the roadmap across multiple teams, and initiating new projects.

I have worked in product development for English Language teaching and learning since 2005, initially in editorial and commissioning roles on both print and digital products. I worked at CUP from 2005 until 2011, Pearson from 2011 until 2014, and retuned to Cambridge in 2014. Products I have worked on or managed include face2face, English Unlimited, Flightpath Aviation English, New Language Leader, Speakout, Pearson Scale of English, and Velawoods English (a fully digital, immersive online English learning experience using animation and speech analysis technology).

Since 2018 I have been working fully on digital capabilities in an Agile Scrum framework, for Cambridge One, a new platform now used by 4 million language learners and teachers, Litmus, an integrated platform for delivering tests and assessment, and other digital capabilities including the integration of automarking technology.

I was certified as CSPO in 2018 and Advanced CSPO in 2023.
