John Macki

John Macki is currently a ScrumMaster who has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years and with Agile teams since 2013. Prior to working with Agile teams, John worked for a product distribution company as a Business Systems Analyst and Project Manager - always in search of a better ways to add value and connect with our customers and team members.

What's a nosy pepper do? Gets Jalapeno business! What's this have to do with John's Bio? Nothing :-) It does give a glimpse into John's sense of humor. Some may argue a sense of humor is not a crucial component of adding value or relating to others. John advocates it has everything to do with how we work and how well we work with others, if we can't laugh at ourselves or face our own shortcomings - how will we improve? John's jokes aren't the best, but they do improve over time (he likes to think anyway)... Which is what he helps teams and individuals do :-)

John has an undergraduate degree in Management Computer Information Systems from Park University, and a graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Dakota. During his time in graduate school he developed a passion for Theory of Constraints and Lean Thinking, which has been very valuable later in understanding the principles and Scrum framework.

John is very adept and passionate in working with and mentoring teams, continuous improvement, trying new things, and understanding the why behind the Scrum framework and not blindly following it!
