About
I have been a Salesforce Architect since 2007, under a number of different titles over the years. I love designing and building products and solutions that make people more efficient and effective at the things they find most important. I feel very fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I love.
So what kind of architect am I? I'm a mix between solutions architect and technical architect. Since that can get confusing, here's what I'm particularly good at:
* Owning a product not as a title, but as a divine mandate to create something useful
* Turning a vision or an idea into a plan and an approach
* Designing all the things
* Pointing out the boxes and arrows that won't work before they are built
* Working with others to turn dreams and hand waving into a practical design
* Constructing a data model that is useable and extendable from the beginning
* Breaking down technical processes and UX designs into buildable bite-sized stories
* Marshaling stories through the agile process of sprints and releases
* Communicating stories and designs to the broader team of devs, testers, and stakeholders
* Wrangling individuals with different skills into an effective project team
* Getting in the trenches and filling the gaps that arise
* Taking responsibility and being transparent when things get tough or go awry
* Shielding the team from external forces that are unhelpful or distracting
* Empowering my team to do more, better, faster than they thought possible
* Moving fast without being reckless and knowing the difference between the two
* Celebrating the victories and the people who made them happen
* Releasing products that I'm proud to have had a hand in building
