Jason Hitchens

My journey to become Agile began in the early 2000's while I was working for a Video Game company. After many grueling waterfall style implementations I was exposed to some opportunity to be on a smaller team with a lead programmer that was inherently Agile, though he had never heard of it. Together we proved the concept of the vertical slice, and using just what was needed to prove our concepts to our Publishers. Once everyone was on board with the game concepts, we'd go ahead and make it pretty and add more and more bells and whistles towards the end. I started researching other forms of management and I came across the LEAN manufacturing principles and worked from those for a few more projects. With more research I came upon the world of Agile. I started attending Agile Denver meetups and became very excited. In 2011, I left my job of 12 years and became a Scrum Master. The more I learn and experience the more I believe on our principles. I am devoted to make a positive difference in my team member's lives. When they're happy, the customer is happy. When the customer is happy, my company is happy.
