In IT for over 15 years; my background as a developer includes significant development and programming in C, C++, Java, Korn, Perl, and VB. I've done development, administration, and infrastructure planning with UNIX (mostly SunOS, Solaris, AIX, and HpUX), and Windows NT / 2K / XP (and older Windows versions). My broad Configuration Management (CM) Infrastructure experience covers the design, implementation, and maintenance responsibilities for: source code control, problem management, build automation, release management, product installation, packaging and licensing, tooling and glueware, and standards (processes, policies, and procedures).
I enjoy leading infrastructure teams to provide critical services across the corporation. My goal is to promote teamwork within teams and across teams, so that infrastructure products, resources, and services are reused across the organization rather than being reinvented on a per team or per project basis, as well as providing special consideration for capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
I have led several projects to design and implement mission critical infrastructure systems, including: Hardware and software evaluation, justification, and acquisition; Change process reengineering and design; Problem management system customization and migration from existing systems; Source code control migration from existing systems; Supporting heterogeneous development environments with multiple UNIX and Windows Client / Server variants; Presentations, Mentoring, and End-user training.
