About

Denise J. Wolf-Hill began her career at a large telecommunications company, working in customer service and sales, and then on the systems that supported sales personnel around the world. After spending ten years in various technology roles, she moved on to being the sales compensation product owner for a new business organization, moving out of Information Technology and into the Sales Operations world. She continued creating small systems used by residential and small business sales personnel to manage sales and sales crediting. She also began building these systems by instinctively using scrum principles; a friend in IT pointed out that the way she was running her development projects was almost identical to scrum.

After leaving the telecommunications company in 2012, Denise accepted a consulting role as a Scrum Master and helped a regional energy provider implement scrum for the first time in their IT department on a project to improve their customer self-service website (.NET-based) and mobile apps. Denise’s role included training additional scrum masters, product owners, and development team members (developers, business analysts, and testers.) As part of this scrum implementation project, Denise coached developers to begin implementing TDD/BDD at the company for the first time. Three years later, the original team had been expanded to two scrum teams, with employees joining the project, learning scrum, and then moving on to become advocates of scrum and pushing for additional implementation of scrum in their new teams. She became the Scrum Master for a new team and coached the other team. Denise also provided internal consulting on proposals and other Agile projects her company was implementing for other clients; this work included another regional energy provider, a healthcare benefit plan provider, and a multinational agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology corporation.

In January, 2016 Denise accepted a Scrum Master position at Wells Fargo Advisors, helping to implement scaled scrum across the Weath and Investment Management organization, specifically with WFA Digital. In the fall of 2016, Denise moved out of the Scrum Master role and began work as an Agile Coach, serving as a transformation lead and Agile coach.

In April, 2017 Denise joined the IT Strategy Lean/Agile practice at Deloitte Consulting as an Agile coach and transformation lead. She has helped clients in many industries including food distribution, technology & media, financial services, life sciences, and oil & gas.
