Daniel Gummerson

Hello to anyone visiting my bio, my name is Daniel Gummerson. 

I've been a Product Owner & Scrum Master for 3 years. My path to product ownership started after I found that becoming a software engineer was not the path for me. I was working on a Software & Technical Support team finding the next steps to becoming a career software developer to not be exciting or what I imagined myself doing with my life. Then, my organization went through a transformation away from traditional waterfall development to Agile development. That was the point when my career focus shifted. 

A little background. Since I was a kid my interests were across the board. I never honed in on a specific topic or skill. I originally went to school for graphic design and digital media arts and then switched to network security. Finding product ownership has taken my jack of all trades approach and really allowed me to unleash my skills. Using my areas of interest and applying them to the role is what I feel has allowed me to be successful. 

I wake up every day excited to work with extremely smart experts in their area, defining the direction of a team, interacting with and collecting feedback from users, and present strategic visions. If the idea of that excites you, then product ownership may be the career path for you.
