One of the achievements I'm most proud of at Betfair is in changing the way that an operations team functioned. When I took over the team their workload was mostly interrupt driven. Drawing on my knowledge from my previous company, I knew that this could be significantly improved. I lead them into working as a scrum team and took on a role as the product owner. Soon they were able to see a bigger picture than the single tasks that other teams came to them with. They're no longer interrupted, other teams are more able to engage with them, they're happier in their jobs are able to contribute far more to the company.
