Carolina Toro-Gerstein, CEO and founder of Poncho Baby Inc., is dedicated to designing and inventing products that are stylish, multifunctional, and eco-friendly. She was inspired to launch Poncho Baby after having her two girls, when she found it hard to find organic and compact baby products made in the USA for moms on the go.
Carolina believes on giving by to the community by mentoring other Latinas in business or donation product to non- profit organizations like Baby2Baby which provides the essentials or low-income kids in Los Angeles.
Prior to creating Poncho Baby, she gained extensive knowledge about online advertising, SEO, online marketing and product development working for Citibank, Oracle, Yahoo! and Citysearch. Carolina was named one of the Top 100 Hispanics in Technology and listed in Top 50 Colombian Professionals.
Her extensive international travels influenced her sense of design, as she observed each culture’s unique sense of style and came to appreciate simplicity and functionality. Carolina’s experience in technology has been very critical for Poncho Baby's online success and its growth in social media.
Poncho Baby received the patent approval for its signature product nursing cover design few months ago. Its award- winning and patented collection has expanded to organic baby products has since expanded. Carolina has focused on creating ecofriendly products that are better for the environment. The Poncho Baby product have ecofriendly packaging. The brand is carried in stores nationwide, hospitals, lactation stores and also international in markets like Canada, Japan, Philippines, Middle East and more to come soon.
The Poncho Baby multiple awards including the 2015 Family Choice Award, Mom’s Best Award, Baby Maternity Magazine’s Top Choice 2013 Award, and the National Parenting Publications Award.
Carolina has been awarded as Top 2018 Inspirational leaders by the National Latina Business Women. Ford Motor Company will award her as Legendary Latina Women in September 27th, 2018.
